Replace Your Air Conditioner Before Summer

Air_Conditioning_Air_Conditioner_Repairing_Service_Cold_Temperature_Work_Tool-meSpring will officially begin this month, and that means summer won’t be far behind. Before you know it, you’re going to be relying on your air conditioner every day, as temperatures climb and the warmth of spring gives way to the high temperature of June and July. And if your system is on its last legs, you may want to replace it before the summer starts. But how can you tell if it’s ready to go and what steps should you take if it is? The answers can be found below.

How to Tell If It’s Time for Replacement

All air conditioners come with a warranty, and as long as it’s still in effect, it’s usually better to repair a problem with the system rather than replace it. Indeed, by scheduling regular maintenance and attending to problems swiftly, you can help your air conditioner last well past the warranty’s expiration. Sooner or later, however, age will catch up with it, and if an expired warranty comes coupled with higher costs, the combination is probably enough to induce a replacement.

So what do we mean by higher costs? It usually boils down to one of the following two things:

  1. Increased repairs, or excessively expensive ones. A repair job that costs more than you feel the system is worth might mean using that money to invest in a new system rather than use it to prop up an old one. Alternately, you may be dealing with a smaller repair, but if it’s your third or fourth in the last 12 months, that’s a good sign that replacement might be a better option.
  2. Monthly costs are getting too high. Sometimes, there’s nothing wrong with the system itself, but the cost of running it from month to month has gotten higher than you can stand. Even if the system works, wear and tear can take their toll, and eventually, that will cause significant problems. If your budget was screaming for mercy last summer, you might want to replace your inefficient system with one that can save you more in monthly costs.

Why Do It Now?

If you need to replace your system, now is the ideal time to do it, and not just because the summer hasn’t started yet. It gives you a few weeks to set up the replacement schedule, allowing it to do so at your convenience, instead of moving your schedule around to accommodate an unexpected replacement. It also gives you time to do your homework and find an air conditioner that fits for your particular circumstances, instead of having to guesstimate on key details like power levels. Finally, changing your air conditioner now means that you can start enjoying the new feature of a new system (such as improved efficiency) immediately, instead of delaying and losing out on those benefits. And because the new system is covered by a warranty, you can relax this summer instead of fretting about an old and possibly dying system.

During this very unusual time, we have put a plan in place to do our part to help keep our community safe. First and foremost, we are going to stay CALM, PATIENT, KIND, and POSITIVE!

There is much to consider regarding the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) and its possible transmission in your home. While there are various and effective indoor air quality measures available to help protect your safety, including duct sanitization, ultraviolet (UV) germicidal light treatment, and HEPA air filters, they alone cannot protect from all forms of COVID-19 transmission. It is important to follow all official guidelines for preventing the spread of this virus.

Because we have a direct impact on the indoor environment, here are practical steps we are going to take to keep people safe:

  • Wash our hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water
  • Cover our nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing
  • Wash our uniforms every day including cleaning our belts
  • Stay home if we are feeling sick
  • Offer a warm smile and friendly greeting instead of a handshake
  • Wear shoe covers and latex gloves in homes and businesses
  • Wipe down surfaces and equipment touched in a client’s home with disinfectant wipes
  • Wipe down door handles, steering wheels, gear shift lever every day
  • Wipe down pens, clipboards, tablets, cell phones, and anything else passes between techs and clients.
  • We have masks on each truck and will wear them at client’s discretion (Currently the CDC does not recommend that people wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19)
  • We are complying with all recommendations and guidelines from state agencies and will be proactive in our efforts to see that our team members and clients are protected.

As the situation unfolds, we will take each day one at a time and ensure we are being smart, supportive, and helping all those we can in our community.

Thank you for your continued support!
