3 Upgrades to Your Plumbing System

professional-plumber-reparation-kitchen

Most of the time, you don’t give any thought to the plumbing in your house unless you find yourself in the middle of a crisis thanks to a backed-up toilet or a water heater that’s suddenly quit working. It doesn’t always have to be that way. You do have the opportunity to be proactive when it comes to upgrades for your plumbing system. We’ll go over three popular ones below so you can decide if they are right for you.

Upgrades to Your Plumbing System

If you’ve ever tried to tackle a plumbing emergency on your own, you may have wound up with more problems than you started with. The same is true for these upgrades to your plumbing system below. Each of them employs newer technology which requires specialized knowledge and skills to install correctly. Contact your local plumbing experts to have the job done right the first time.

1. Tankless Water Heater

All homeowners are familiar with traditional tank water heater units, but you might consider installing a tankless water heater to obtain the benefits it offers. First, these systems are wall-mounted and won’t take up an entire utility closet. In addition, water is heated as it flows through the pipe which means you have an unlimited hot water supply.

You’ll also only use hot water when you need it instead of keeping 30-60 gallons heated 24/7 whether it’ll be used any time soon or not. This energy efficiency can also lead to lower utility bills.

2. Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration

If you want to dramatically increase the quality of your drinking water, a reverse osmosis water filtration system is worth looking at.

A series of three cartridges are connected to the water line running to a faucet. The first contains an activated carbon filter to catch large particles. The second cartridge contains the reverse osmosis membrane which filters out very small particles. The final cartridge contains another carbon filter to catch any remaining materials.

Water is then stored in a tank until needed. One last inline filter clears out any remaining particles, and the result is the purest water you can drink.

3. Dual-Flow Toilet

Since 1995, new toilets have been required to be low-flow and use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush. The benefits are twofold: water is conserved and your monthly water bill is lower.

There is another option which can further enhance conservation and savings: the dual-flow toilet. With this system, there are two options for flushing: .8 gallons for liquid waste and 1.6 gallons for solid waste. After all, you never want to flush money down your toilet!

During this very unusual time, we have put a plan in place to do our part to help keep our community safe. First and foremost, we are going to stay CALM, PATIENT, KIND, and POSITIVE!

There is much to consider regarding the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus) and its possible transmission in your home. While there are various and effective indoor air quality measures available to help protect your safety, including duct sanitization, ultraviolet (UV) germicidal light treatment, and HEPA air filters, they alone cannot protect from all forms of COVID-19 transmission. It is important to follow all official guidelines for preventing the spread of this virus.

Because we have a direct impact on the indoor environment, here are practical steps we are going to take to keep people safe:

  • Wash our hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water
  • Cover our nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing
  • Wash our uniforms every day including cleaning our belts
  • Stay home if we are feeling sick
  • Offer a warm smile and friendly greeting instead of a handshake
  • Wear shoe covers and latex gloves in homes and businesses
  • Wipe down surfaces and equipment touched in a client’s home with disinfectant wipes
  • Wipe down door handles, steering wheels, gear shift lever every day
  • Wipe down pens, clipboards, tablets, cell phones, and anything else passes between techs and clients.
  • We have masks on each truck and will wear them at client’s discretion (Currently the CDC does not recommend that people wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19)
  • We are complying with all recommendations and guidelines from state agencies and will be proactive in our efforts to see that our team members and clients are protected.

As the situation unfolds, we will take each day one at a time and ensure we are being smart, supportive, and helping all those we can in our community.

Thank you for your continued support!
